John Logan Elementary is located in the historic San Diego neighborhood of Logan Heights. Our campus is near the Coronado Bridge and minutes from downtown.

We are a learning community that believes that all children can excel. Teachers, students, and parents demonstrate a passion for learning. The goal is to have students become lifelong learners. It is also our belief that all students benefit through their involvement in school life, therefore a strong emphasis is placed on student participation. Through this active involvement, students experience a community which prepares them for their future and for their place in the world.

Our school provides rigorous and challenging academic curriculum enriched by a comprehensive writing program.

There are many opportunities for parents to be involved at Logan (for example: governance committees, special events, fundraising events, parent organizations, and classrooms) and at the district level (for example, Parent Congress, district councils/committees, Parent University, and special events).

We also encourage parents to support their children at home by discussing their education expections and creating a positive homework and learning environment in the home.

Logan's parents volunteer as tutors, readers, and support persons during special events. Parents take advantage of the numerous educational programs provided by the Parent Academic Liaison (PAL), as well as full participation on the School Site Council (SSC)/Site Governance Team (SGT).
